Hamilton's Farmers' Market

The Hamilton Farmers’ Market is a great place to find local produce, family owned and operated delis, ethnic foods, etc. If you can eat it you can sell it is pretty much the motto to this place. This amazing hub for local delights is found in a corner of Jackson Square Mall in the heart of downtown Hamilton. I would be misleading you if I said that this is something unique to Hamilton but I would be correct in saying that many people do not take advantage of this wonderful place.

There is nothing like eating local produce… It just makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside! It truly is addictive. So much so that McMaster University has initiated a service called Mac Farmstand. Its purpose is to provide a service that allows students to purchase locally grown produce on campus when visiting the Farmers Market is too difficult. I believe it to be an invaluable service and I wish it the best.

Moving on to the ethnic stands at the market, there is certainly a variety to taste test. Remember folks, I LOVE FOOD!!! There is nothing like sampling other ethnic foods and you should never be frightened to do so.

I almost forgot the delis, I should be slapped for that. There are a slew of family operated delis each with there own specialties and again I highly recommend trying all of them at least once.

As I’ve said before and will say again Hamilton is a great city. But like I said we are not the only city to have this kind of market I highly recommend that seek out your closest market and take a look at what they have to offer you.
